CPI Information
If you were contacted regarding your current proof of insurance, please note we are unable to accept an insurance ID card, as it does not contain all the required information. To help us process your insurance in a timely manner, please refer to the following primary insurance requirements:
- Continuous insurance coverage with no lapses.
- Create Credit Union named as lien holder or loss payee with insurance company.
- Comprehensive and collision coverage (or physical damage) with deductibles $1,000 or less.
If we don’t receive acceptable proof of the required insurance, we may purchase Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI) at your expense to protect our interest in the collateral. CPI is not a substitute for standard insurance, usually costs more, may not cover your claims, and only covers certain physical damage or loss we file as the creditor. CPI does not provide liability coverage or meet state insurance or financial responsibility requirements. Please obtain and provide proof of your own insurance.
